Obesity is one of the biggest problems Americans face, and it is a major problem in terms of the general health of society.  As we get fatter and fatter, we will all notice just how much less healthy we are.  You can watch in horror, as medical bills associated with obesity begin to skyrocket, as well as taking an additional five prescriptions, along with having problem with insulin levels in your system.  Obesity carries with it a plethora of health issues, as obesity can be linked to hundreds, if not thousands, of ailments.  Being overweight can cause anything from blood pressure issues due to bad circulation and even plaque build up, to cholesterol problems, to even prostate or cervical cancer due to the body not having good circulation in these regions and not being able to deliver the right nutrients and allow wastes to exit.  Obesity can also carry with it massive psychological problems.  Dropping self-esteem is always a factor when dealing with problems of being massively overweight.  Soon the doctor will be prescribing depression medications to combat this mentality, however those can also come with disastrous side affects.  With the mental factors involved with obesity, the refusal to dig out of the whole becomes one of the biggest problems. As the person becomes more and more obese, actually getting to a healthy weight begins to feel almost unreachable, so the lifestyle simply continues.  Obesity is considered a disease; because of the amount of people it kills each year.  However, this disease is one of the most curable diseases known to man.   It is a disease that is behavioral in nature, and some cases, the mere will to change is all that is necessary for you to live thirty more years.

 

Major Diet Changes

One of the biggest and best points a person who is dealing with obesity or being overweight can cover is drinking plenty of water.  Water is what keeps us alive, and when we are dehydrated, things simply do not work as they should.  Water lubricates, delivers nutrients, and keeps up metabolism.  Drinking cold water also has the ability to raise metabolism because the body has to heat it to 98.6 degrees in order to digest and absorb it.

Another major key is not to starve yourself, as the body will then shut down its metabolism.  If you choose to skip meals, the body naturally slows down production because it does not know where the next meal will come from.  It is important to eat less, but more often.  Now, obviously, eat organic vegetables and fruits.  Eating these add very few calories, but still the body is burning the food more often, naturally raising metabolism.

Lastly, do not eat processed red meats, as this is a massive cause of the obesity you’re escaping from, so be sure to eat only poultry, or fish when possible.  These meats might be high in calories, but they are naturally low in bad fats and cholesterols.
