Inflammation

Inflammation

Inflammation usually occurs when the body is reacting to something it deems to be harmful to it.  When something is inflamed, it is because the body is trying to protect itself or prevent further damage.  Often times, inflammation occurs because the body is trying to heal or it is trying to rid itself of an infection that has already occurred.

Inflammation is not really an ailment or a disease, as cancer or a cold might be, it is simple a reaction.  Inflammation can happen because of allergies, toxins, or exposure to something that may disrupt bodily processes.  Inflammation tends to be one of the first lines of defense against certain problems, so it is not always a bad thing.  While inflammation may be sometimes painful or itchy, it can be a very beneficial reaction that when it occurs, it is basically the body’s natural defenses kicking on and removing whatever the underlying cause may be.

It is very important to figure out what is causing the inflammation before attempting to address the side effect. The inflammation might just be your key to beating whatever it is.

However, often times the inflammation might be from a toxin or venom introduced into the system, such as a bee sting, and bringing down the swelling will greatly help in dealing with the pain.  Sometimes, it may be addressing an allergy to something, so be sure to follow proper allergy natural remedies, and the inflammation should disappear in no time.  Once again, finding out the underlying cause to your inflammation would allow for you to deal with the problem and not the symptom.

Often times, doctors will prescribe steroids and other anti-inflammatories as a knee jerk reaction.  This can not only be very dangerous because of the myriad of different side affects coming from a lot of medications, but the doctor simply wants to satisfy the patient by covering the problem and treating the symptoms.

Inflammation has a cure

Once you’ve figured out that treating the inflammation will be beneficial to your over all health and wellness, you can begin to figure out how to stop the inflammation.

One of the best ways to deal with inflammation is by using what is called hydrotherapy, or therapy through the use of water.  Heating up water and bathing in it will keep circulation up and muscles lose, but cold water is usually the best for reducing inflammation, because it decreases blood flow and causes the area to deflate.

Many essential oils like sea cucumber have properties that go down to the root and deal directly with inflammation.

Taking zinc supplements is also ideal for people who have chronic inflammation problems, as zinc tends to boost immune system properties and will unleash a barrage of anti-bodies, wherever the bacteria might be.  This will cause your body to work less at dealing with the problem, and you will be able to reduce the inflammation without losing any immune system advantages.  Once again, inflammation can be a good thing, but it can also be reduced.
