Something in the Air?
Bloating can often feel very uncomfortable and can even cause your torso to be bigger or protrude because of gases. Bloating can tend to be slightly embarrassing because of a myriad of problems including flatulence and belching. Bloating tends not to be a worry for most men, either because men don’t have the problem as much, or men simply don’t recognize it as a problem, but women tend to deal with the issue (or are conscious of the issue) far more often.
Bloating happens for several reasons. One of those reasons is simply swallowing too much air or are unable to eliminate the air from the gastric system. Swallowing air can be done by chewing to gum too often or even talking while eating. This has the tendency to cause air to get trapped in the food and then it takes a ride to the stomach where it just sits there.
Other causes of bloating can be because of eating things like broccoli and cauliflower, which the stomach can’t fully digest. When the stomach has the inability to digest these foods, bacteria begins to multiply in the stomach causing the release of gases, thereby creating that bloating sensation. Spicy foods that the stomach has trouble digesting can also be a major factor.
Bloating can cause flatulence if the reason for the bloating is digestion issues, so it is a good idea to make sure that if you are constantly feeling bloated, take note of the food you are eating.
